The apartment is located very close to Piazza Garibaldi, the main square of Santa Fiora, in the historic center and from its windows you can admire the picturesque roofs of the town.
It consists of a large living room furnished with a large sofa and equipped with a fireplace, a spacious and equipped kitchen with a dining table, two double bedrooms, a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with shower. I remember that as a child, as soon as I finished school, my parents took me to Santa Fiora, to my grandparents, where I stayed until the end of August and I had a lot of fun ...
Erano gli anni 60 e in quelle estati Santa Fiora veniva letteralmente invasa dai “villeggianti”. Si trattava per lo più di nonni con nipotini che, per sfuggire alla calura estiva della maremma, se ne venivano a trascorrere qualche settimana di vacanza in montagna, ospitati nelle case dei santafioresi. Nel senso che vivevano proprio insieme, condividendo cucina, bagno e via dicendo; una sorta di B&B ante litteram. Così, anche a casa dei nonni, in un certo periodo dell’estate, si palesavano i villeggianti e per qualche settimana, si creava una sorta di famiglia allargata.
To me, this thing of making their home available to those who wanted to enjoy the climate and hospitality of the country, receiving in exchange stories of personal stories, habits, recipes ... I loved it.
Since then, many things have changed: in the summer I no longer spend whole weeks in Santa Fiora and the mythical figure in the vacationer has disappeared. But I still have the desire to host those who, for a few days, want to immerse themselves in these splendid Amiata landscapes and enjoy this delightful country full of surprises. And so at 5 in via Diacceto, the family home has reopened its doors and is ready to welcome you, hoping to make you spend happy days.
